Commissioned

My clients range from small to large. Just like photography, it ranges from very different assignments. Mostly I photograph for companies in the Netherlands in the region of Alkmaar and Amsterdam. But occasionally also in other places in the world. My commissioned photography style is often documentary but sometimes also staged.

Conceptual

Conceptual Photography starts with an idea and develops into a concept. A photo with a deeper layer. A story told through just one or a series of photos. Conceptual photography is sometimes commissioned and other times I use it to convert my own story into images.

Portrait

As a portrait photographer I always let people be themselves as much as possible. Taking a portrait photo should never take too long because then the moment fades away. Setting up flashlights usually takes longer than creating the final portrait.

Sports

Sports photography is close to my heart. Sports that involve adrenaline such as skateboarding, BMX, trail biking and free running. Sports that involves a lifestyle. Correct timing me as a photographer is essential to capture the right moment. By using flashes, the image becomes more dynamic.

Travel / Street

Street photography involves a lot of observation. Looking around and then unnoticed taking a photo of someone often tells a story in itself. Traveling and street photography is a nice combination. You often find a connection between things you see or happen. A journey from capturing a beautiful scene in a small alley to a landscape with the most beautiful sun on it. Street and travel photography often provides insight to new ideas.
